Learning the maps for me is the biggest pain, until I know them inside and out I dont do very well. I tend to run around until I see someone, then I shoot them and someone else in the area always see's me and then kills me right away.
Got the Famas last night too, by far the best Assault Rifle at the moment, good rate of fire and hardly any recoil.
I'm not too crazy about the purchasing of all the guns, perks, etc. It looks as though if you buy the silencer on one gun, then you want it on another gun later you have to re-purchase it. I think I like the old way better where it was just unlocked.
The maps are way more detailed and I feel as though it's harder to just sit and camp. There seems to be a lot more building on each map, with multiple entrances.
Overall I think it's a good game, but it will take me some time to learn the maps.
I already cant stand the Nuke City map.

Agree 100%, it takes a little getting used and can be really frustrating too. A couple times last night I start shooting someone, after a few bullet hits they realise I am there and turn around and shoot me. For some reason their shots kill me within 1 or 2 bullets, while mine seem to take 5-6 before they die.
I guess it could be the weapon, but it kind of sucks.

I had played MW2 so much that I sort of learned how many bullets it took to kill someone. In this, I had a few incidents where I intentionally stopped firing because I knew he'd die. But then he didn't.
I mean, I know the COD series isn't supposed to be realistic at all, but that's just ridiculous. When someone is spraying your backside with bullets, you don't just turn around and fire . . .

Yeah, the bullet damage thing is a lot different. I saw a walkthrough of the game and the developers wanted it to be this way so you had to be more skilled to kill someone. In a way that makes sense cause some noobs might just spray with their guns and kill, but then it isn't very realistic when you need 5-6 bullets to drop a guy
I do like that they tried something different though.

Played last night for about an hour to get used to it. The difference between Modern WarFare and Black Ops is huge, the map sizes, the complexity of the maps.
I agree with most that the amount of amo used to kill the opposition is much more than MW. Its just takes some time to get used to it.
I like it tho, plus its new.

My best yesterday was only 17-4 or so. Had a bunch of matches were I was barely over 1:1.
I just don't know the maps, where to expect people, and then I skipped the second rifles and went straight to the M14, which was horrible. When I went back to buy that second gun, I started doing much better again.
