That's my only complaint at the moment. I've been having fun ripping it up in the Beginner's Cup and winning a bunch of cars. This game has reignited the fire all over again!

anyone know what level you have to get, to unlock the top gear track?
Also, we should set up a time trial list. I've been tearing up Indy in the LP and M3 for a while now. Just got 1:52 in the Rx7. No idea if that's ok or not.

im having a blast with this game. Im actually winning with a legit car. so its making it more enjoyable.
got a mazda mx-5 for my first car. the only things i've had trouble with are; second challenge for jeff gordon, best ive done is 2nd. and the top gear track with the vw buses. i can't beat that one for the life of me.
have yet to place the arcade mode.

SO here are some answers:
You can unlock a lot of things by doing the "Special Events" (i.e. Top Gear, AMG Driving Academy, etc.). Also, there are a ton of reward cars just for the unlocks.
Damage comes later in the game since it'll really mess you up. For the Premium cars, there is body damage, etc. For the Standard cars, it is only physics damage (i.e. no visible damage past scrapes/dirt).
Changing tires makes a huge difference in grip levels. Also, certain cars respond well to various traction control, stability control, etc. settings. I generally drive with TC on 1 or 2, ESC off, and ABS to 2 or 3.
Licenses only seem to be required in later races. I didn't notice any of the beginner and amateur tiers requiring a license. I've only completed the B-license, but halfway through the A-license.
Another tip: Check the used cars often. I've picked up a '73 BMW 2002 Turbo and I've seen a '73 Stratos, '00 Diablo GT, '64 Pontiac GTO, etc. Personally, I'm going to buy all the sexy used cars I can find, since the "regular" cars will always be available at the dealerships. My 2002 Turbo is 900kg w/260hp now...
