Yah, Highrise has multiple "secret" places, although most people do now know how to get up there. In addition to the scaffolding you used, you can get to the crane that hangs over the side of the map in multiple ways, which can be good for sniping (assuming you move after each kill). You can also get on top of an overhang inside one of the main rooms, which is great for CTF defense.
Oh, I just discovered the one on the roof yesterday. I'll have to try that other one you mentioned. I've been on the crane, but I just hang out on the ledge or on the crane itself.

Walk all the way down the crane that connects to the one of the buildings, and you can walk on a small ledge into a window that will overlook the room inside.

The assault on the oil rig is pretty good, but the bad guys wouldn't have all that artillery laying around.

My beef with most games is that they're catering to the 10-12-yr olds with some of the nonsense. If I were to do MW3, I'd leave out ALL the cowboy guns, put in all the guns REALLY being used (416, M110SS, MP7, MK46 and MK48, etc.), keep the damage the same, and make teamwork even more important (a team bonus or something).
+1 on Flashpoint. I believe there are still some devoted nuts playing it online to this day (it's a game from 2001!), I don't believe there has been anything since that's so realistic. It was fvcking hard though. I had the collectors edition w/ the Russian campaign add-on and a 50+ page walkthrough manual. And I still couldn't finish the final level. The spec ops missions were especially grueling: you'd crawl around with a silenced MP5 for literally 20 minutes at a time and then you'd make a tad too much noise / pop the wrong guy -> cue incoming Hind, boom-da-bang, you're dead. Sooo frustrating

Was Operation Flashpoint fun? Looks like a sequel came out this year:

I don't it's fun as in 'entertaining' per-se, more like a very steep learning curve which ultimately makes the game more rewarding if you invest the time to learn how to play it. But for 99% of the gaming population it's probably too hard while at the same time not much action is going on. It's the complete opposite of stuff like COD4 with its dramatic set pieces and fast paced action.

At least in the original Flashpoint game there were missions were you literally had to walk around some godforsaken woods for an eternity scouting out an enemy position or whatever. 15 minutes of jogging through a seemingly empty forest which was boring and nerve wrecking at the same time because if you accidentally bumped into a patrol there was a pretty high chance of you ending up with a bullet in your head and having to replay the entire mission again. No such thing as health packs or automatically regenerating health, even worse, the enemy AI had good accuracy (like they would have in real life) and one bullet in the chest/head area would mean game over.

So all things considered it's no wonder they never really tried to make another one.

Operation Flashpoint is a watered down version of Arma (II), which is regarded as the most realistic fps sim.

It will be interesting to see how the MP ends up for this as it's being made by DICE (who just recently finished Bad Company 2) and is also working on Battlefield 3. Unfortunately it seems as though they will have to cut corners somewhere.

Even if I only play MoH for single player it'll be worth it. And SOCOM 4 is coming...
