I play 9 games out of 10 with the Scar-H / FMJ / Stopping Power and a shotgun as second, so it didn't take long to get back to where I was before I prestiged in terms of guns - but the care packages are much better. I used to get stupid UAVs and counter-UAVs most of the time, but now it's usually predator missiles, apaches or even AC130s.
Definitely worth it.

I agree with jox (for once) you do get better care packages, but I don't use care packages anymore for a killstreak reward. I use Pred missile, Air strike, Pave low or AC-130 depending on map.
