I play 9 games out of 10 with the Scar-H / FMJ / Stopping Power and a shotgun as second, so it didn't take long to get back to where I was before I prestiged in terms of guns - but the care packages are much better. I used to get stupid UAVs and counter-UAVs most of the time, but now it's usually predator missiles, apaches or even AC130s.
Definitely worth it.

A trick to never running out of ammo:
use One Man Army or Scavenger. With one man army you just switch to the same class over and over again and you will reload all ammo (I do this with noob tube and have had a few nukes using noob tube + killstreaks only lol)
