I am still learning the maps, too, but holding my own. I've had a few 20 kill games and my kill/death ratio is still positive. It'll just take time. Imagine how f'ed the people who get this game for Christmas will be when it comes time for multiplayer...

I just finished the single player game. To say it has surprises is an understatement. I won't spoil it, but I said out loud, "WTF" three or four times.

Just got home after picking up a second PS3 and two copies of the game. Should be on in a few fellas.

 

Single player is not short, but it goes quick. I took today and tomorrow off to play... I have my priorities straight.

 

Looks like the PS3 patch for the invite problem is due out on Friday. In the meantime you can use the following work around:

Got this to work with Gobbles Jr no problem. We both went into the game, went into multiplayer, hit the PS button, scrolled left to Account Management, hit Triangle, log out, log in, PS button back to the game. Then send the invite.

I would imagine everyone you are trying to get into one lobby would need to do this procedure.

 

Okay, there are some fukt up missions in there.

And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

ETA: jesus do I suck at multiplayer! I'm looking at the killcams and I don't even see myself on their screen...and I have a 100" screen! WTF?!

 

This game is even better than I thought it would be.
Though short, the campaign mode was great. I won't go into detail, but some of the scenes are very intense. I beat it in about 4 hours, and am now making my way through the ranks in multiplayer. The amount of customization is awesome. MW2 will continue to entertain for many months. It is a worthy successor to COD4, and will easily be considered among the best games of all time.
At last glance, it was estimated to make $500 million in its first 24 hours of release, outselling all other forms of media and entertainment. It is amazing how far this industry has come. Who would have thought video games would out sell any movie or music album?

I am just going to hold off on MP with you guys until the weekend (I'm out of town from tomorrow until Sat AM). We'll get rolling - make sure you guys are on each other's friends lists. Also, add Tron999. We'll have to link up in a private match and scout out the maps, get our commo coordinated, etc.

I am just waiting and waiting for the bling perk to unlock. I can't wait for my M4 w/suppressor and ACOG. I like the SCAR-H a lot, too. I use it on the bigger maps.

The maps are very complex. I've got the basic layout down on a lot of them, but there are some serious nooks and crannies everywhere. I also like the verticality of it - you can climb up almost 4 stories in the Favela map.
