New local dimming Samsung announced
This is the gen III local dimming LED TV from Samsung, not to be confused wit hthe fake LED's from Samsung this year which are edge lit.
I have the first gen 52," the 81F, and paid through the nose for one, but I still love it.
The second gen, the 950A, basically added more local dimming LED elements.
Fundamentally, gen I and gen II are plagued by the thick casing because of the LED techonlogy.
It seems that Samsung has figurered a way to redo the local dimming LED elements and the gen III is only going to be 1.6" thick!!!!!
And unbelievably, the MSRP for the 55" is only $4500. I paid 4K for my 52" back when the 81F first came out in 2006.
