Good to hear, hopefully by august they have the kinks completely worked out.

w/ regards to SV - I'm just saying I would take a 160gb 7200rpm w/ a 500gb (or similar) 7200rpm drive via FW for my media and whatnot if I did not need to carry everything I have saved ever.

the faster speed is just a little more peppy for loading/saving etc.

This is what I have now:

Machine Name: PowerBook G4 17"
Machine Model: PowerBook5,1
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (3.3)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 1 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 167 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.6.2f1

My new one is going to be faster, right? I'm sorry I'm not so bright in the computer department. I know how to use them, but not spec them. I definitely need a big screen. I have a Sony Vaio sitting around and it's just too small. If I traveled more, I'd want the lightest and smallest, but this is for mostly home use.

Thanks... It was a big purchase so I want to make sure I'm happy. I'm always running out of space. I don't mind the speed the way it is. Faster of course is better.

You'll love it. You can always replace the internal drive if you're not happy with it. Smart move on the non-glossy screen.

Be careful where you put your Time Capsule. They run hot.

Get the cheapest HD and get an aftermarket 7200 rpm right away. Unbelievable how they don't offer them. Night and day compared to 5400.

What do you recommend picking up?

BTW - I'm going to change my order for the faster rpm and smaller size set up. Was thinking about whether having 50 less gb would be the end of the world. Anything is better than what I have now.

Thanks for all your input.

DON'T do this. Just get yourself a DVI to HDMI cable and then you can just hook the macbook up to your tv. FYI I payed ±$60 for this cable but I was being lazy and just bought the first one in sight. I think you should be able to shave like $20 of that price with a little searching.

Congrats on the new 'book!

After thinking long and hard, I went with 200GB at 7400 rpm. I'll get an external down the road if it comes to that. It sounds to complicated and messy to add rpms afterwards.
