New LED TV's (3rd Gen) from Samsung

LOL, so we have to pay off the first gen LED TV from Samsung's 0% same as cash deal in April, and apparently we are now on the third generation of them now.

Samsung stuns with 6000, 7000 and 8000 Series LED LCD HDTVs

I'll be in the market for a 32" for the bathroom, and a 42" for the den in about 2 months.

Anyone know when these are coming out, or what I should be looking for?
Cheers

That actually sounds pretty badass! I just hope OLED TVs start dropping in price soon.

I just wish they had local dimming as opposed to being edge-lit.

This is probably the only technology piece that we have bought in the last few years where two years later, the price of the same type of product still cost the same instead of lower.

We paid I think 4500 bucks for our 52" first gen LED, the 5281F Samsung, and it looks like the price have not dropped at all.

The most expensive 55" has a MSRP of 3,999 (3,599 for the cheapest) so expect to take 20% off that at least for actual purchase price. Also there has historically been a decent price jump between the 50/52" size and 55", so I would say prices have dropped substantially since you bought yours.

Samsung doesn't make the 52" glass for this any more, I don't know why.

The MSRP was 4499 for my 5281F. I can't remember what we ended up paying, because we got the Best Buy extended warranty. I think maybe it was 4499 with the warranty and including sales tax.

I have just been too chicken to buy a TV like this mail order.
