I've heard it's a crashed F40 rebuilt with an LM engine.
It's not officially an F40 because Ferrari refused to consider it a Ferrari. That's why there aren't any Ferrari badges.

In my neck of the woods, We have 3 F40s which I see regularly. But today I am a couple thousand miles away in the French Riviera, and I saw 2 more in the same day.
One was very active (parked next to a black enzo)

And the other one looked as if it hadnt been driven in a few years
(same owner also owns F50, 550 Barchetta, and Enzo all parked close by as well...in the same condition)
