Why doesn't the Enzo excite?

It doesnt have a manual gearbox thats why or maybe because it doesnt have a rear spoiler like the CGT or F40/F50.
When the term supercar pops to mind, nothing better than the Zonda F clubsport or a Carrera GT.

I don't like it either I'd rank the other 3 (288GTO,F50,F40) higher. And it's not because of the F1 tranny or the spoiler or lack thereof I dunno why I'm indifferent about the Enzo but I love the FXX. Nice thread subscribed.

well if u ask me i love the enzo, but i can understand why one doesnīt love it:
1) as u guys said before it just isnīt as pure as a cgt or a zonda, because of the transmission for example, it just isnīt a proper direct drivers car
2) from todays view the enzo got one problem: when it was brought out in 2002 it was loaded with the latest f1 high tech, like 150ms gearbox, ceramic brakes, special traction control, flexible aerodynamics etc. at that time these features made it outstanding, no other supercar could offer that, which i think was the fascination for the enzo. but today it just isnīt totally up to date anymore. if u think of the new 458 italia. although being a "standart" ferrari it offers more high tech than the enzo does, eg the gearbox, the traction control and esp settings etc. that is why the enzo seems a bit less amazing, cause it lives of its high tech
so to finally get it to the point, i believe that the enzos problem is that it isnīt timeless. a f40 f50 cgt pagani and so on also offer racing technique but not all the computer stuff like the enzo, so they just donīt get old and fascinate more by their looks sound and brutality!

That's what I was thinking as well. The Enzo has no character compared to the other ones. It's all business and no personality. The FXX gives it some sort of substance.

Yeah I agree with both of you. That's really what it is. It has no character IMO. Whereas, yes, the FXX does.

#1 - flappy paddles
#2 - ugly as sin
#3 - corporate design and specs
I just don't see the passion in the Enzo. It doesn't set a new benchmark, it's "just another super Ferrari".
Doesn't help that Ferrari claims the Scuderia is quicker around Fiorano ...
