Interesting. Starting to look like the FF and F12...they need something different looking.

 

It could also be a one-off, from the special projects department, there are rumours of an F12 spider being built for a customer so it could also be it

 

It doesn't look at all like the F12 from the drawings but more like a leaner version of the California with an FF front end

 

Looking at the proportions I'm sure that it's based on the FF. It can be a one-off. In fact Ferrari always publish their one-off cars patents before the car were launched. The production cars patents are always registered but not published before the car launch. They publish them weeks after the launch. SP12-EC, Super America 45, P540 Superfast Aperta... all leaked on patent drawings.

The drawings are correct as they can be found at the European Trademark and Design Office (OHIM), not at the European Patent Office because a design not a patent.

If you want to know about Ferrari patents you can visit the Italian Patent Office, where Ferrari first files its patents in order to get one year of priority.

There you can find interesting patents such as: "car with hybrid propulsion" filed in 11th June 2013, and "car with four wheel drive system" filed in 18th July 2013.

 

My gut says this is a one-off FF, not a California replacement. I'd be surprised if Ferrari made a Cali replacement that looked soooo much like the FF.

That said, there's part of me that hopes Ferrari's actually planning on mass-producing an FF coupe to go along with the regular (i.e. hatchback) Ferrari Four.

 

Could be a F12 Targa.

 

Doubt its an FF -- Since FF means Ferrari Four (4 seats + 4 wheel drive). With 2 seats, Ferrari will have to drop one of the Fs.

 

Well if it's a one-off the name will be changed for sure. We said that it's based on the FF, not that will be called FF.
