Alonso 599, would you?

Thanks for everybody's opinions. It's pretty much what I also felt when they asked. I'll give this one a skip!
While we are on the subject. What are the exact specs (if any released) of the Alonso edition? My dealer says it's faster than the GTO and more lightweight, which made me think why make the GTO in the first place?
------
@DJ: WOW, THAT IS A CAR!!
@D55L: I also said "OCTOBER?!" When I heard that too. The dealer reconfirmed and October 2012. I also thought the replacement 599 was due soon.

i totally dont get that one! why release an old car (revamped) when you have a new one ready:
either delay or...
the 599 sucessor is said to have a front very similar to FF (i.e. ugly if you ask me) and overall questionable design. as far as preorders go, there are much much less of those compared to the aventador, and people who have an idea what it looks like are not all that exited either. obviously the exiting part is the technology, and 720hp (or so i am told).
if it looks anything close to FF i can see people sticking to the 599..
BTW, i was looking forward to it, but FF design cues totally put me off (i have not seen it yet, just had it described to me). we will see. and tbh it is not all about HP either, event if it comes slightly on top of the competition it is not a game changer.

Did a little research about 599 replacement - no the car isn't delayed, there are some dealership representatives and customers who seen the actual real car and said it is amazing. Yes, there are bits from FF and Italia of course, but car is stunning. Actually even the most loyal customers don't understand the move with that rather silly edition.

as far as i'm concerned, i prefer when a fast car looks fast as well. the FF no matter how i look it it is just an oversized BMW 4. i just do not see ferrari coming up with something dramatic and sharp given the recent history. i believe this car is supposed to have a somewhat different appeal, i.e. a very fast GT, rather then a track car converted to road use. maybe i am flat out wrong, and i hope i am, but so far the car looks too tame.
