Ferrari 599XX Evolution Pack

In sports car racing, the term "Evolution" has come to represent the most evolved or extreme version of a particular car model. In the case of the Ferrari 599XX which is already a hardcore version of the street going 599 GTB, Ferrari has taken it another step forward with the 599XX Evolution.

First revealed by spy photographers, the non-homologated sports berlinetta features an active aerodynamics package which consists of an active rear wing and front splitter. Influenced by the Drag Reduction System (DRS) in Formula 1, two flaps on the rear wing electronically open and close to adjust downforce over the rear axle depending on certain parameters. These parameters include steering wheel angle, longitudinal acceleration, lateral acceleration and vehicle speed which are determined via the car's other electronic control functions (ESP, ABS, SCM and F1-Trac). Combined with a new rear diffuser and new Pirelli tires, total downforce at 200 km/h (124 mph) is boosted to 330 kg (serial: 280 kg) when the flaps are open and 440 kg when closed.

For power output, the 599XX Evo gets a 20 PS increase to 750 PS (740 bhp / 552 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. This is accomplished by simply redirecting the exhaust pipes out the sides. Furthermore, the 599XX Evo weighs 35 kg (77 lbs) less and has a shorter final gear ratio for faster acceleration on medium- to high-speed tracks.

The 599XX Evo is only available to Ferrari Corse Clienti (race clients) participating in the track-based research and development program for the 2012-2013 seasons.

The Ferrari 599XX Evo will make its public debut at the Bologna Motor Show on 3rd of December

Looks great but I love the standard one's aero better: they don't interfere with the shape. Thx for sharing.

With the shape of that wing, this would make a great Batmobile in matte black.
