Spied: 2012 Ferrari 599 Successor (F152)
Reported to be lighter, faster, and more hard-core.

Ferrari is out and about testing again the successor to the 599 GTB Fiorano, code named F152. Seen here under a chopped up 599 GTO body is the new chassis and powertrain, in other words a typical mule. Just to be clear, the F152 will look nothing like this at all. The all new model is reported to be lighter, faster, and more hard-core.

Powered by a modified version of the new 6.3 liter V12 found in the FF, the F152 will get direct injection and be rear-wheel-drive only. Power is expected to climb close to 700 horsepower, if not more, and will connect to the rear wheels via the new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Where the FF is more the family orientated family car for everyday use, the 599 successor will be the true super sportscar thanks to the use of more aluminum and carbon fiber.

Expect the F152 to debut in 2012.

God, do I want this car. I don't even know what it'll look like, but damn, do I want it.

 

Next year will be awesome for Ferrari. This + F70 = color me excited.

 

as long as they give it a substantial weight reduction (as its currently a bit of a pig) it should be brutal with 700+hp

 

Looks very similar to the 599 already.. I hope some aesthetic changes are coming. I also thought Ferrari claimed that the FF was the "successor" to the 599? Either way this should be an exciting one.

 

The 599 is a great car. I have driven it twice and really liked it so I am VERY excited to see the successor. Sounds like it's going to be amazing!
