I was a diplomat for a number of years and you are bound by the laws of teh country where u are working, but when it came to tickets [speed/parking] we would get them and then go to the office that issued them and say that they were caused by Work-related issues, i.e. our country was in "danger".

Even diplomatic immunity doesnt give u immunity to do anything u want. U can get arrested, cannot get prosecuted though. U do get deported and then most of the times prosecuted in the country of residence. This is, however, for criminal offenses, not speeding tickets

I wonder if these special edition vehicles have a much lower resell value, since this guy, even though he has a 599, will probably be looked upon as an "Ex-al-thani" 599 owner

Im not a diplomat but im like 98% sure that here in Germany you can do anything "illegal" without getting a ticket or any punishment at all if you have diplomatic plates. You can park wherever you want, you can drive as fast as you want and overtake "however" you want without getting arrested.Kind of crazy...

I'm glad the family got looked at and glad he got slammed. There is absolutely no reasoning for the reckless driving done. The pic with the clamps is funny- saved for my bin of laughter.
