I just spent an epic first weekend with my GTO, 650kms now so only 350 until it is run in and I can properly go above 5000rpm.

In short, it is easily the best car I have ever driven. It is insanely loud, especially the whipcrack downshifts which often make one or two secondary cracks when you're pressing on and the exhaust is hot. Race mode, 3500rpm onwards, people in neighbouring towns can hear you. Goes without saying how fast it is, but it is the astonishing way you can cover ground, tight twisty roads or open fast sweeping bends, it has such incredibly quick, precise steering, nicely weighted and communicative. The suspension imperceptibly firms up as you gain speed, and without realising it you're cornering flat at speed yet when you slow down and cover bumpy roads it is a pussycat.

I think Evo summed it up: "a legend in the making". This is a special car - it is fast but so so involving. There are some video's in the "spotted" thread, so here are some pics:

Can't seem to find the GTO in your first picture. Was the camera too slow?

Sean it is the in-car telemetry (an option). Records a lot of data including route driven on a memory stick and you can play it back and analyse later on a PC.

Yes. I heard about it on the web as I was finalising the spec - the dealer didn't know about it and had to ask the factory
