Lamborghini Miura S + 400GT Enthusiast Detail and Show Prep

In bullfighting, the Miura lineage has long since been known for its considerable size and cunning ferocity – an exceptionally dangerous animal for a matador to be turning his back on, let alone facing. Often personified as an individualist, each bull seemingly possesses not only a strong build character but also distinct physical attributes. With that in mind, it’s much easier to see how Ferruccio Lamborghini found their bloodlines to be a fitting namesake for an iconic two seat, mid engine sports car that helped define what most super cars are today.

It just so happened that right around the same time as the Miura began stamping its hooves off production lines, one of the grandest of grand tourers also came to life – the 400GT: a car with a legacy of less than 250 siblings in existence. Only briefly from ’66 to ’68 did the 400GT grace the factory outside Bologna – and ever so slightly modified with a longer wheelbase & different roof lines than its older brother, the 350. Somehow between then and now, one lucky 400GT managed to make its way stateside and eventually all the way to our doorstep here in the great Pacific Northwest for some TLC…and a bit of family time with a dangerous relative.

We received both cars same-day with orders to prep them to be shown at a Concours exhibition/drive, the Vin d’Elegance, so we opted to set up these classics with our Enthusiast Detail package. Check out the process photos below and be sure to let us know which one you’d prefer if given the choice!

One of the biggest surface contaminants that many people don’t realize is oily skin – greasy finger prints on windows and panels can and will affect results of a show depending on the event! Always remember to wash your hands and wear latex gloves during intimate car care situations!

Polish goes a long way - the muted paint and chrome scratching was significant, but both were cared for by our techs. All chrome & stainless steal is cleaned and polished to shine with the Enthusiast Detail package.

Both cars were thoroughly inspected for correction and clay barred to remove the bits of grime and road tar before they entered the first stage of the two stage machine polish included in the Enthusiast Detail.

Curtis cleaned, brushed, polished, and dressed the wheels & tires on both cars with a protectant to make sure they would not only withstand more wear, but also look their best for the judges!

After a bit of buffing, it was time to shine. Here we have Solomon & Curtis starting to wipe the car down completely with microfiber towels on the interior and exterior.

The brilliant red leather interior of the 400GT received a bit of tender reconditioning via toothbrush – a great way to work the cleaner into cracks & stitching without stressing the surface.

We made sure to not miss an inch of these two vintage masterpieces – it’s important to put as much detail into care for the vehicles as their creators did in engineering them!

This is very cool to see such classics like this in a modern day detailing facility. I never knew how low this car was or his is super tall?
