1972 Lamborghini Miura SV New York Auto Show car
Hi everyone,
Found some old photos I had of the Miura SV I inherited. My father purchased the car new in 1972 from the New York Auto Show stand. It currently has around 8,000 miles and is all original. Thought I would share these with the TeamSpeed crew.
The car was built specifically for Modena Racing, the USA distributer, and is one of 21 USA spec Miura SV's ever built. It was about 10-15 one-off unique features that were modified by the factory strictly for the NY Auto Show.
The interior is immaculate and the mechanical is in amazing running order, but it is currently apart for an eventual paint. Planning on going with old school lacquer as it is what was available in 1972.
Hopefully it will be ready for Supercar 2009.
circa 1980 Jupiter, Florida
Best,
John

Wow! That's such an awesome thing to inherit! Could you please share what these one-off items are on the car and how they differ from a regular (if there is such a thing) Muira SV? I can't wait to see the pics of the fully restored car!

Well,
1. The interior was done in a special order "Pelle Senape" Boars Skin/Pig Skin hide.
2. Extra use of leather including, hand brake and other parts not normally wrapped in leather.
3. Door and Engine louvers equipped with brass ribs on the edges.
4. Revised front grill.
5. Road lights
6. The car came with an original mobile telephone. (No joke) Very large crude italian piece.
7. Suspension was tuned and it was painted in a unique color (Lemans Blue) for the NY Auto Show.
8. A few other differences.
