I am not trying to disagree with you on this, but like I said earlier my friends 360 and 599 both have orange peel. These were bought brand new. However, when he had his 355 it did not have any orange peel.

night and day results! very nice job.
And I have seen some HORRENDOUS Ferrari factory paint jobs, look at some California delivery pics. Lamborghini seems to have good paint for the most part

This is true......however the cars are DA sanded as the amount of grit determines the amount of orange peel is still on the finish.
Every Ferrari I work on has FACTORY DA sand scratches left behind such as.......this.
599 "C" pillar with DA sand scratches.
Brand new 458.
Sand scratches compounded out.
16M sand scratches.
355's have less orange peel than current model Ferrari's, and were hand painted as opposed to the robotic painting process used by Ferrari now. 355's also have VERY thin paint even before rotary correction compounding (100-118/120 mils on average).

Awesome work there. Its amazing how bad the orange peel is getting on new cars. Heck, the F150 I was doing hail repair on last week, had orange peel so bad, you could hardly tell the highs from the lows on dents. guess thats a good thing for some techs, just not a perfectionist.
Granted I know its only a F150, but still Ford, you cant put a little more pride in paint finish.
