Porsche 997 Exhaust tips

Do any Porsche owners or anyone else have a recommendation on what to use to prevent the exhaust tips from turning polished to Black soot from exhaust vapors? My tips have been black since I took delivery and I cannot get them back to what they looked like.

Nope. I'll look into never dull though.
I am assuming there is a product that shields the tips so this exhaust crap just wipes off.

The problem is the heat the tips get will break down any sealant you put on them. The DFI engines throw alot of soot.

some #0000 steel wool and a little metal polish will bring them back to like new, but in all honesty theres nothing you can do to prevent it from happening again soon. Like Axxlrod pointed out - a sealant applied would just break down when they heated up, which would only take a few moments.

Flitz metal polish does really well. It might be my imagination, but the tips on the Mini Cooper seem to be easier to clean now that I've polished them up with Flitz and a microfiber cloth. I don't bother with a sealant - just the metal polish. Heavy blackening would require some steel wool, but even a cone-shaped wheel brush will help clean the insides. It's a messy, labor intensive job.
