Attached are pictures of the scratches on the car. It is definitely deep enough to where I can feel them with my fingernails and in some spots, the original paint has already chipped off.

I was thinking about possibly trying to first fill the scratches with touch up, wetsanding, and then polishing them out, but I'm not really sure on what wetsanding consists of as I've never done that before. I plan on purchasing this polishing starter kit from detailer's domain:

So what do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

Got your PM; thought this would be better.

From the pictures you have provided, many of the areas are down to the primer, some to bare metal. Your best best is to put a claim in, and get the whole car repainted.

Silver is a very tough color to match. To repaint properly, surrounding panels have to be blended. For example, to paint the trunk, the rear quarters need to be blended. To paint the scratch on the right side of the hood, the right fender needs to be blended.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Re-painting was my first thought as well. Don't listen to me though, this guy ^ know what's up.

thanks for all the advice so far everyone. repainting was an option but i just wanted to keep the car OEM as i usually dont like for cars to be repainted unless they absolutely have to. ive read some threads on other forums of some people getting amazing results by using touchup paint, wetsanding and polishing so i thought i might give it a try.

ouch, that sucks. You will have to repaint the car. Since it is all over the car, and you can't color match silver perfectly without blending, the entire car will more than likely need to be painted. You also can't do touch up on silver, as the color will NEVER match. I would recommend selling the car. If you get the car repainted, and it's not to your standards you'll never be happy. When the time comes to sell, and people can tell that the car has been painted you're not going to get nearly what you want anyways. Good luck!

I have no idea who did it, it was probably someone who was jealous of the car or so. I wasn't in any confrontations with anyone so yea I have no idea. I park at a university campus in Detroit, so maybe it was someone who hates imports, but it could have been anyone.

I am a painter in a body shop and I can tell you that you are wasting your time nd money with that paint stick, your car is a metallic silver and you will not be able to replicate the spray pattern with touch up. It will look terrible. Make sure you take it to a shop that cares about quality and not quantity ask to talk to the painter and see if he is passionate for what he does. You will know right away what I mean. If it is a quality job and the right procedures are done there is no reason to sell the car. Good luck
