I was down in San Marcos for the weekend and I start getting emails from one of my friends about buying a '78 Corvette down in New Braunfels that he found on eBay... Naturally, I offered to pick him up at the airport in Austin and drive it down to check it out with him on Saturday.

We were both VERY skeptical about the purchase, because it was an eBay auction and the pictures were small, etc.... but everything worked out great, the car has 14k original miles, and he bought it for a STEAL of a price. The car runs strong, has NO body damage, very minimal clear coat fading, and the transmission is as smooth as a brand new car. It's an anniversary edition and 99% original.

Here's some pictures I took of the drive back, unfortunately we didn't have much time for a photoshoot but I figured you guys might enjoy it.

 

Gorgeous car; i have a '78 as well with only 24k miles on it. Thought i didn't drive it very much, so it's nice to see another with low miles.

 

I remember that anniversary edition when it came out. Looks like a great example.
