Moto Evolution is on a distinguished road

2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo - Tailgate will not open.

You can hear the mechanism trying to release, but it will not unlatch.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Try having a look from the inside (rear passenger seats) and tell us exactly what you see!
Is there anything obstructing the mechanism?
Anything trapped in-between the door and latch?
Anything trapped in-between door and actual car?

The vehicle is sitting at my freight forwarders warehouse getting ready to ship out of the country. Taking it to the dealer is not really an option at this point.

I'm trying to talk them through it over the phone.

I was just wondering if anyone has had this issue before and maybe some suggestions for a quick fix.
