Got to see the Panamera up close.

\ OMFG. Porsche's approach fits the definition of dilution - see below, I went into further detail to spell it out for you in the GT3RS LE thread which you either glanced over or refused to accept - your posts fit the definition of dense. I'm not even going to waste my time reading your pontifications on "Porsche this and Porsche that".
I can think of no fewer than FIVE sedans in that price range that look better. How many of you own and are going to track a Panamera? I don't want to hear "well if I had it I would" if it's going to be followed by "if I had the money..." because then you're not a buyer or prospective owner even. I read on here the other day a post by STOPPIE, Brobbins or gk@domani (note: these people have KNOWLEDGE not OPINIONS of the customer base) that true enthusiasts do not make up much of their clientele. My experience left me with the very same conclusion.
The best thing the Panamera has ever done for some stores is help them sell other cars.
The four door coupe concept is best executed by the CLS. While the Panamera has a phenomenal interior the exterior induces vomiting at best. The only reason they moved off showroom floors in the first place was via the "I gotta have it first" crowd picking up theirs - mostly Turbos.
At least Porsche isn't diluting their brand like Aston Martin and Lotus. They're creating cars, and they're not even trying to stick to their philosophy at all.
Porsche however, has never compromised sportiness on any model they've built.
The Panamera is a beautiful, low, long, wide, and short sports car. Looking at it from the front, it looks very aggressive and very Porsche. From the side, you can appreciate how low and sporty it is. Especially for a four door. From the rear you can understand how slippery the aerodynamics are, and you are assured that this is a sports car. Take a look through the sporty wheels, and you are greeted by huge brake calipers. Step inside, and you know it's a Porsche... Instantly.
The Panamera couldn't be more Porsche than well... Porsche. The Panamera is a Porsche sports car with an extra set of doors. As is the Cayenne.
And a fact: The Panamera was the most eagerly anticipated Porsche in history. It was well worth the wait, and I'm surprised at how sporty it is.
Also, as 20C4S said, the Panamera has so much road presence. I'd say just as much as a 911.

....and people don't buy cars for looks alone, it is about passion and other emotional characteristics. Why do you think Porsche has sold so many 911variants -- it is not the rear engine overhanging bettlesce good looks. It is what the brand means to the buyer and the proven performance on the track which appeals to most.
There is no sedan on the market which can touch the Panamera when performance is a consideration. It is the best sedan out there.
The CLS is just another weak MB variant and cannot even hold adults in it's backseat. The Alpina is overshadowed by the M5 and falls short.

you fail again good Sir!
There isnt another large sedan that handles/drives the way the Panamera does. Not to mention you can get Bentley like interiors.
She is a fantastic car.

@cstroked: The majority of my post actually had absolutely nothing to do with Porsche and whether they're diluting their brand or not. If you actually read it, you would find out that it's about how perfect the Panamera is.

The Alpina B7 is not meant to contend with the M5... and falls short of what, exactly?
Back on topic, I certainly wouldn't turn down a Panamera Turbo, but that's the only one that really gets me going. It'd just be hard to stomach spending $150K+ on that car. I still like it better than any AMG S-Class, V12 7-series, or A8 variant. The Alpina and maybe a Quattroporte would rank ahead IMO.
