Which one, which one?

Hello, fellow TeamSpeeders. [TeamSpeeders? No?]

Kinda odd that my first post here is a call for opinions... but hey, we've all got to start somewhere, eh?

I'll skip the intro bit and cut to the chase - I'm considering a new Porsche and I find myself torn between which Porsche to get. We've got a Porsche Boxster S PDE2 in my family and since I've always been hooked on Porsches from about eight years of age, I've decided to move up and feed my fire even more.

Much as I'd love a 911, the 991 is around the corner so I figure it's kind of a waste to splash money away on the current model since it's at the end of its current cycle. It's down to the Cayenne/Panamera since they're (a) next-generation models, (b) present a 'new' direction in Porsche design and (c) I find both models stunning.

I'm someone who rather liked the former Cayenne model, and I've been head-over-heels for the Panamera since its unveiling. I love the new Cayenne, having stalked spy shots and even traveled for global unveilings for the car; what bothers me is that the facelifted Cayenne will probably be more incredible than the current one [same applies for the Panamera], but I wouldn't want to wait until 2013/2014, so...

So: which one? I would use the car as a daily driver, and I more often than not transport people around [cousins, siblings, parents, friends] and their associated crap. I'm also a speed fiend, but I'd like to avoid Turbo models since I think they may be too much to handle. The Panamera is distinctive, with its unique, unmistakable silhouette and on-road presence. The Cayenne sort of blends into the SUV mass out there, and its new Asian looks don't particularly help it stand out either. I'm skeptical about the Panamera's reliability though; you know, being a new model/platform and all.

ANYWAY - you dictate. Cayenne or Panamera, and which model? S? 4S?

I'd like to hear what you guys have to say. Hit me up!

First, welcome to the Team.

Second, for me I would get the Panamera 4S. Need the 4wd for winters here (New England) and S to have a little fun.

Get a previous gen. Cayenne GTS with a couple thousand miles on it. You can even find them with a 6-speed if that tickles your fancy.

Panny S unless you need the all wheel drive. More fun with rear wheel drive.
