Winter Rubber

There seem to be two options for the 19 inch Panamera wheels, Michelin Wintersports and Pirreli Sotozeroes. The Pirellis sell for about $200 more on the Tirerack website, both get good reviews.
Anyone have strong feelings about this? I live in the Great lakes and we get plenty of snow, ice and cold. Thanks..

Usually this is the only thing helpful in the lakes during the winter..

I have driven with the winter sports on a disco and it was unstoppable.

Well, Porsche does support Michelin, and they do sponsor Porsche, so I think the choice should come naturally.

i can´t tell exactly about panamera sizes, but generelly u should consider that the michelins are quite old whereas the pirelli have just been updatet like one or two years ago, in most tests the sottozero is by far better than the michelin, which always is critized of having a lack of grip and - result of that - quite long braking distances

I feel sorry for those that have to use winter tires, especially in September!

I am thinking ahead. The snows won't go on until early November, and that's probably a little earlier than absolutely necessary but we can get snow and ice at Thanksgiving and you don't won't to have summer rubber on when that happens.
