The Panamera / Panamera 4 is here....

I am definitely a big Porsche fanatic but with the V6 Pnay Porsche missed the mark by a long shot. Sorry, but for that money you can have a very well optioned Audi S6 with a Lambo V10 ... Pany V6 is a total failure, $74K for a naked base model 4 door sedan is complete lunacy. I have no doubt it will sell but anybody caught in a V6 Pany is just a poser. Sorry for the harsh words but I am not feeling it, the V6 Pany has nothing in common with Porsche.

I find it a bit hard to believe since the OP is a Porsche seller. A++ on his writing technique though, probably got that after several hrs sitting through Porsche's marketing training sessions.
Anyways, the new 740i is equipped with V6 and many other high end car will sure follow that path. I, for one, like the Pnay V6 but hate the fact Porsche is not keep this car just like its older V8 brother.

Chris,
Glad to read your report.
Test drove a Pan S with my wife, she likes the interior layout of the car very much, she doesn't mind the exterior either, felt that it looks different than the other (boring) sedans out there, speed is more than adequate for her, so she decided to get a Pan 4 instead of another BMW 5 series (a close second choice). Her Pan 4 should be here within 2 weeks.
We looked at the new MB E-class and she said it looks like an old man's car. Audi is not even a consideration.
For people who have negative opinions, I would like to learn how the V6 has offended you, as none of you has driven it before. Not that I care much about these negative comments, but I'm interested to learn what defines a true Porsche to you.
If I'm driving a GT3RS, can I call the base Carrera driver a poser too??
From the Porsche website, Pan 4 0-60 is 5.8, while a base boxster is 5.6. I think it is great performance comparing to a true sport car. Its ability to carry 4 people in comfort is bonus.
For those who think it is too expensive for a V6...well, not everyone should drive a Porsche, right? (not meant as an offensive comment, but do you really think Porsche should be charging Toyota's money?)

I was lucky enough to drive a Panamera S few weeks back. I hated it on paper and pictures, but behind the wheel I did a 180 on the car. Turned alot of heads and I think it had the best interior in its class. I've even driven a maserati quattroporte and I would go with the Pana everytime.

But the people who are in the market for the Panamera V6 are the grandkids of the people who took out another mortgage on their 1-bedroom apartments some decades ago to buy the Porsche 924 because they wanted to have a Porsche. "Look at me, I am a middle manager and I have a Porsche!". No, you don't. You have a Panamera V6.
On the other hand, it is a volume model designed to finance the development of proper models so I guess in one way I am thankful. But I could live with the fact that it existed if it wasn't so freakishly...... yeah, you know the word.

Schwabe- While I do like the S6; it's depreciation precedes it. Audi's drop like rocks, more over Audi still has Customer Satisfaction issues and quality issues- and as good as the S6 is, it still doesn't seat 4 as well as the Panny. The Audi shares platforms with its VW siblings, and the chassis is made to accommodate that.

If you've spent any time reading my previous posts about the V6 Panny you'd realize my position wasn't a favorable one towards the car. And if you knew more about 'me'; which I wouldn't expect you to necessarily to- you'd know that while i do love Porsche, I'm a car fanatic #1. So I don't let bias (or try very hard not to) seep into my posts about other brands.
And both of you knuckleheads should drive the Panny V6 and know what you're talking about!!
Tim- Very good points. You get it.
