Quality issues for Audi???? Faster depreciation than a V6 Panamera?
I drove the Panamera s4 and turbo and both are great cars. $90,000 for a V6 (almost barebones nonetheless) is only for suckers. The A6 platform does not share anything with any VW platform.

you could buy a used 997TT for a new V6...
it's not all about the price of the car
many people seem to prefer efficient and "green" engines, even if they could afford to DD a V12

You don't have to believe me Schwabe; only ship anchors are faster falling then the depreciation of an Audi. lol
And it's not just about 'price' or the 'options'; as Porsche has proven, time and time and time again.

If I may chime in...is the price of the Pan/Pan 4 high? Yes. But it's a Porsche, there is no substitute. That is all.
On the subject of Audi..I happen to like them. A lot. I switched over to Porsche from Audi though because I fell in love with the PanaS. Are it's looks polarizing? Absolutely. But I honestly could not see myself in an A8..boring, although extremely functional. They don't make an R8 with 4 seats so that'll have to wait.
I don't give a crap about depreciation because I lease a new one every 2-3 yrs. And Audi lost major, and I mean major points with me over the way they handle their accounts. I have never in my life seen a more inept company bungle an end of lease transaction the way they bungled ours.
ECB has a very good point, it isn't all about the performance and price..for some, it is simply a decision that leans more towards being eco-friendly.

KT- you're point drives at exactly what I was talking about with regards to customer service. Regularly we have clients who want to either purchase or lease a Mercedes or Porsche- as a convenience; we try to assist with the lease turn-in aspect and return of their former car. Audi/VW is among the WORST I've ever seen to deal with.
Talk about a positive way to piss off and cool off an existing / future clients. Leasing should be straight forward, and relatively easy.
Honestly even that brand looses a client, the way they handle the whole transaction should be 'top notch'. The last impression is the one that is seared into the memory banks of the clients.
Good point KT!

They have different trade in values depending on whether you're a dealer or a customer. My local Porsche had never heard of anything like that. It was there, in very tiny print on our contract, though. I won't go into the other aspects but yeah..I won't forget anytime soon.

Stoppie - As you know I sell them all, the Panny, S6, E550 and the new 5. We have yet to PDI our Panamera so I can not lay judgement on it yet. However I think Schwabe has a very valid point with the S6. I have sold a dozen or so of them, taking a 2008 in on trade on Tuesday.
Audi quality is exactly that. Quality. Without question we have fewer issues with the current Audi line than either BMW or Mercedes. Waiting to see how the Panamera's and the new E2 Cayenne play out but for now Audi is the best quality we have. And yes, I am a Porsche/BMW driver so that is hard to say.
I know the depreciation rate on the S6, I just appraised the trade on Monday. Car was a low 70's sticker new. It's about three years old, 35,000 miles. I am showing him $40K on a trade. Well higher than 50% after three years. Not bad...
