Just how many wires are there inside a Cayenne??

Recently finished project, wire harness weighed 64lbs. Thought some of you may (or may not) enjoy seeing this:

Replacement of said harness along with the headliner wiring harness due to an electrical fault.

Took a while. The new harness was built to order, by VIN so that took several weeks, and the replacement took a couple weeks of on again off again type work. Drove it out today and all is well.

Is it just me, or are car electronics far more complex then they need to be. By now i though that the harnesses would have terminated into hundreds of colour coded USB port so such similar tech. The current setup for wiring harness was great 20 years ago, but as cars get more complex it just seems that the current arrangement is rather messy.
