I just drove one of our Panny 4S's and for launch I do not feel it makes the car any quicker. That being said I will support Chris's opinion that in the Carrera's it is a absolute must. Just the way it is.

rojda is an unknown quantity at this point
I agree. My point was that for the Panamera S/4S it is not an absolute option. The Panamera turbo or the 911 is a different story.

If so, what do you use the sports chrono for during regular driving?
Yes, as with pretty much any Porsche. I prefer the 'crisper' throttle response. On the Panny I prefer it to the normal, more S550 like, drive. Crisper throttle and it stiffens the suspension. On Air Suspension equipped cars it'll lower the car a little bit.

The only time I would shut 'sport' off would be on the highway, with cruise control on, for the best fuel efficiency.

Turn the sport plus on, stomp the brake, stomp the gas and viola launch mode! If you do not launch it within 3 seconds it will turn off. On the Pannys the center display will read "launch mode active" on the Carrera Turbo it's on the steering wheel.
