Ipod will not charge.

My Ipod will play but not charge when hooked up to the Ipod interface. I have the standard Y cable with the Ipod interface and also the USB interface. Anyone solve this?

Is this the new Ipod? Some of the older cables do not support the latest generation Ipod.

Yes, it is a one year old Ipod Touch. Has anyone gotten their Ipods or Iphones to charge with the provided Y cable with Ipod connector?

Some need the wall charger and will hardly or not at all charge through a USB. Had mine replaced twice, still will not fully charge through USB. Is that the cable with two USBs? Then plug both in and see if it charges, might just not be enough current through one USB.

With the iPod Touch and iPhone this has been a recurring problem across many platforms. I have an Avic D-3 in my truck. It will play with the ipod cable, but will not charge my iPhone, period. It has something to do with the iPhone/iPod Touch not recognizing the cable/adaptor as being a genuine Apple branded product.

You may want to PM Simba and ask as well. I know in some cases there is a newer cable that can be purchased, but that will be vehicle specific.

There are two available cords for the Ipod from Porsche. When Apple changed to the Iphone, I touch, etc they converted from 12 volt to 3 volt input. Get the other cord from your dealer. It will then charge. We have been dealing with this for a while now. Problem solved.

Gobbles - There is a converter available to change the voltage. Cost is $20.00 or so, check Ebay. It's just a plug that attached to the existing cord.
