Panamera should have had a Boxer engine

I think the reason of taking an Audi/VW over the Boxster engine is based on Panamera's Weight, that engine on the lighter 986/987 works perfect.
At low rpms the Boxster engine will not perform well as a low ended "toquier" engine on Panamera or Cayenne.

I think he means a BOXER (ie, flat) engine, not a BOXSTER engine.

Ehh, gonna have a hard time fitting 8 cylinders lying flat between the front wheels. Also need steering hardware, transmission and diff too.
Perhaps you know something the engineers at Porsche don't?

I don't think the OP really thought this one through from a pure engineering perspective. Personally, I think the engine configuration should be the least of anyone's concerns with the Panamera......
