The only motor being from Audi/VW is the 6 cylinder. The V8 is completely Porsche hand built. FYI : )

The Panamera makes total sense as a front engined GT Coupe (a la 928). There was a thread a while back where it was rendered and it looked really good.

Exactly. It should not have been a boxer engine, in my opinion. While I don't know something that the Porsche engineers do not, I did get to sit with them for 8 hours and learn about why they did what they did, and how they did it. There is not one thing on that car that is basic VW/Audi. Such a claim should not be made without it being substantiated.

I hope you all will check out my article. It's in the August 2009 issue of Excellence mag. I thought it best to keep my thoughts hush hush on here until the article came out... since they hired me and all that. But I gotta say, it's been really eye opening (and difficult to keep quiet) on here over the past few months while people slam it. I went in there wanting to hate it too though. But, if you don't try to make it into the Porsche that you want it to be, it's a fantastic car. I hope you guys enjoy the article when your issue arrives.

Peace out.

Jared
