Boxster Spyder GT4 a "real" possibility

Autocar is reporting that a Boxster Spyder GT4 may actually make it to production. The note a senior source at Porsche said, “We are looking at it right now. Much of the engineering has already been done for the Cayman, so we think this might be a good direction for us.”

The Spyder, revealed last month, already shares the GT4's 3.8-litre engine but lacks its GT3-derived fully and rear suspension. It would also gain full GT3-specification brakes in place of the 911 discs on the Spyder, plus the Cayman GT4’s aerodynamic package -- sounds like the ultimate sunny day hair dryer to us!
