Well, in 2005 I thought I had found the car of my dreams when Porsche announced the Cayman S. A beautifully sculpted car, designed in a mid-engine layout with rear wheel drive and all put together with german engineering.

Well, that is the car that I fell in love with 3 years ago. It has grown from strength to strength. Read this article for some details on my car.

So, the time has come to move on from this. My attention has wondered, and I was contemplating an R8 or maybe an F360 (someone is obsessed with mid-engine cars). Well... after looking at all my options, and seeing how amazing my ride is at the moment, I have decided that giving her up would be unforgivable. But the question remains, how can I make her into someone that I want to spend the rest of my life with as we grow old together? Well, the answer as all good men know, is... she needs implants!
She deserves it after all...

Gentlemen, get ready for the build thread of a lifetime.
In here, you will find the intimate details from start to finish of my humble Cayman getting a 997.1 GT3RS Engine, transmission, Drexler LSD and Big Brembo's or AP Racing stoppers. Probably more goodies as well. I received the motor on Monday of this week, and the teardown has begun. This beating heart will be turned into a high-compression, blueprinted, full bore 4.0L engine. We are expecting somewhere in the neighborhood of around 450HP out of this. (to the wheels). I am not yet sure what I am going to do about aero... that will probably be for another time. She will have to be a supermodel in casual clothing for now.

I have waited long enough for Porsche to build this car, and I take it that it won't happen... so who better than BBI Autosport with their Porsche Motorsport racing experience to undertake this project with me.
Lead time, I expect will be around 4 months.

Some quick pics of the engine teardown today. Dirty right now, but she will be going for a full ultrasonic wash soon. (told you it would be intimate):

Wow that's what I call passion. A Cayman with a 7.1 GT3RS engine must be unique.

Wow, that is so cool! For the body, I think giving it new headlights and tail-lights from the 987.2 would really set it off. Good luck on the build, and I can't wait to hear it!
