Question: Will the NEW Cayman...

Don't sell it! I know you have car ADD, but that one is very, very special IMO. It could be 5 years (or more) before we see a similarly focused 981 derivative, and it won't have the Cayman R's steering.

Last week I stopped into a very famous Porsche dealer to alleviate some boredom while on vacation, as well as check out the 981 in the flesh - I had seen one already in Atlanta, but not up close and personal.
I started talking to a salesman about the 991 becoming more of a GT and my hope that the GT3 would continue the heritage of hardcore drivers' 911s, as well as my hopes for the upcoming Cayman. To my pleasant surprise, he agreed on basically all points, and was very knowledgable about aircooled 911s as well (I had driven mine). He owns a TPC Cayman S that he tracks regularly, and is looking forward to the new Cayman.
For what it's worth, he said the Cayman will be "something we won't expect" and that the performance-oriented iteration(s) will no longer necessarily be the little brother to the 911. He hinted at a turbocharged version. I have no clue about his source(s), obviously.
No surprise, but he also expects the GT3 to be $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

We saw the Cayman at the Canary Boxster launch. It's what you expect, no turbo, less than the 981. It'll be 320 or so hp. He was either ill informed or bored and messing with you.

TPC'd Cayman is one of the coolest cars I have been in. Sick power with great durability. The new GT3 is going to be expensive, so was the last RS.

Just look at the new Boxster, it's bigger on the outside/inside- that will remain true for the Cayman.

Granted. And it's ok if no one knows this yet or not but is it say as spacy as a 997 for driver and pass? The reason I ask is, for me it's always been a bit of a snug fit in the Cayman whereas the 997 felt roomier. This is the reason why a Cayman was out of the picture for me. If the new one is indeed significantly spacier then I would def. consider one.
