Nope. My buddies car had a more aggressive track setup with Hoosiers. The other car was street sissy city.

The Hoosiers are the only difference? I suspect not.

No. He had aggressive camber adjustments. Added spacers in front and a couple suspension pcs. Nothing but camber in rear. All stock.

My best guess is he's gone way past what Porsche would recommend for dialing in his suspension. I'd give it a ZERO % chance he'll have it covered by Porsche.

something doesn't smell right here.

Bad guess. Maybe I make it sound too aggressive, but it's nothing the average track wouldn't do. Guy is 65 yrs old. He got the first Cayman R in the US. But I still don't see how it happened. His son is the GM of the dealership where I buy. They fixed the dents by pulling them out. Car will be at High Plains in a week, so we shall see if they come back.

What kind of transmissions were overheating? Manual or PDK?

I'm just going by the 'constant and variables' in this equation. In this case, we have a chassis that's been tracked and proven (the 987 chassis)- then we have his chassis- the only one reporting these issues. We can rule out design and engineering as the chassis would have shown this defect on a broader range.

So that leaves just 'his car'.

I think we're a little premature to toss judgment against Porsche considering the evidence.

PDK. Both defaulted to 2nd gear safe mode after a few laps. It took longer when sport plus was taken off.

Figured it was PDK... I'm sticking with manual transmissions for as long as I can.
