Who ****ing cares what they call it???? Do you think "Gallardo" or "Evora" is an awesome name? Get over it. Jesus, it's ridiculous - like ANY of you have a 911 R or have some deep, spiritual bond with the name. Seriously dumb "meat"...

WHAT????

The Cayman R at best is a lazy, lackluster parts bin exercise. No coilovers. No adjustable sways. No monoballs. No spherical ends. Same old engine (yes, it is a good engine). The R designation is wasted and an insult for this car.

After all the secret hush hush leaks about this model this is a HUGE letdown. Had it been introduced as simply an option package, well then fine.

But this is no "R" and it is nothing special as far as Cayman or Porsches go.

I was hoping for SO much more. Oh, the gentleman in the video, David the Marketing manager, he was at the show last night and I gave him a painful earful about exactly how I felt too

Come ON Porsche? WTF? This is insulting to real enthusiasts.

<>Rant over</>
+1

This car is not worthy of the Porsche "R" badge.....

I have a lot of seat time in stock and real whoop di doo caymans... I also have about the same amount of seat time in boxsters and boxster spyders. The spyder is a hell of a car, currently my favorite car in the line up. The suspension is fantastic, the ride is great and the car really works together as a whole.

This cayman is going to be about 90% of what the spyder is but more usable. From Porsche, it will be the best handling option and i am sure it will be a fantastic car.

The question is, did you really think they would make it faster than any 911?
Casey, I'm thinking that the Cayman has the potential to be a better track car than the Spyder because it is a coupe and therefore has a stiffer chasis. Is this correct?
