Yeah it's pretty much the only way I'd leave the 911 platform (Cayman RS or GT3).

CAR&Driver just did a test on a Cayman PDK, and it reached 60 in 4.3 seconds. Porsche claims 4.6. So, if Porsche claims 4.3 on the Cayman RS, we might even see sub 4 second times on a production Cayman. That is if PDK is available in the Cayman RS. My guess is that it will be because the Boxster Spyder is, but we can only wait.

PDK sucks. I know - I have it. I want a stripped out Cayman with a 3.6L Carrera engine, GT2 seats, and the GT3's suspension. That would be a win (and worthy of a Cayman RS tag).

Ya, I've never driven manual or PDK, but PDK seems boring, and I get a weird feeling every time I see a car with PDK. Something about PDK just doesn't seem right.

Don't get me wrong, it works exactly as advertised. I've had multiple cars with dual-clutch gearboxes and this is the best of the bunch. It's just too boring for my fun car. My next car will be a manual.

PDK was really, really clunky in the 997.2 Turbo I drove. It didn't shift all that fast either, but I never put it into sport mode.

Manual is still the only way to go, imo (or so I'll tell myself until I get a shot at Ferrari's F1 system...)

Local dealer swears this is coming down the pipe. Plus there was talk about it at the last big dealer meetup.

Must have been in comfort mode, than it would feel awkward when shifting. From a performance stand point, the PDK is the way to go. I would rather have a manual just because of the fun factor and really feeling at one with the car.

How are they going to keep this car from treading on 911 territory? I thought that was the whole point of not giving the cayman a decent motor? My 07 pulls equally hard to a 997.1 S... so... a Cayman with 350hp(?)... with a few motor tweeks im sure you could get to 400. NA.

I would love it if it were true... i just won't believe it until I see something official.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that no matter how fast or light it is it will still not, on paper, be faster than a 911, Porsche knows better... And this is coming from a guy that builds fast caymans.
