LED sidemarker bulbs install

difficulty rating: 1-10 is 1
cost: $9.99
tools needed: none

So to continue my all LED project I took a pair of LED sidemarker wedge bulbs from my Jetta to see how the looked on the Porsche.
First, Pull out the side marker, pretty easy.

twist the housing off...

pull out the halogen...

put the LED in, pretty easy...

reinstall the housing and turn it on, pretty cool just like xenon...

only one problem, check out bulb indicator...

PEPBOYS to the rescue, they can be purchased here too: PilotAutomotive.com : Product : LED Indicator bulbs I ran and got a set of these, surprisingly no indicator bulb out...

here is a close up of the bulb I purchased...

reinstall and wow...

matches better than the other brand and no errors, it also has two brightness levels, when you turn the lights on or unlock they are super bright. Ater you turn the car off with the come home feature they are dim...

matches xenons perfect, easy install, get it now, go to your local auto store.

UPDATE:UPDATE:UPDATE:UPDATE:

After a few weeks driving around, occasionally the "check right side marker/ indicator" comes on. It automatically goes away after a second. It gets a little annoying because it is intermittent. You can add a 10W 100ohm resistor to the right FRONT side to avoid this.

As you can also see from my avatar I have smoked sidmarkers (not the ugly orange) but you could always see and orange bulb in them.

Damnit I have called every store that they have on their site and no one carries that bulb.

Advanced Auto Parts has a "194 bulb" but not the specific LI-194W so I will be running over there after work.
