Question questions and concerns on Bentley GT...

looking at a really sexy 08' GT speed... have driven the new 2013 and despite loving it the color combo on this 08' really speaks to me...

car is certified pre owned from a bentley dealer, so that means 12 months unlimited mileage warranty which sounds amazing to me...

curious on a few things:

A: anyone had problems w/ the certified warranty not covering stuff? reading up it seems just like the new warranty and includes all the perks.. (dealer says $3,900 is cost for initial year and can be extended up to 3 years for $3,900 a year.. does this sound right?) i never buy extended warranties but on a used bentley unlimited mileage sounds attractive.. and i would keep less than a year anyways.

B: has the full chrome grille with the additional lower pieces in chrome, to change these to black... what do people usually do? i was thinking paint but i assume with the modern advances that plasticoat might be an interesting option to revert to chrome down the line? or does someone make affordable black replacements?

any thoughts, suggestions, etc on pre owned bentley? the 08' seems like the year with the most vast updates... and all the newer preferred items inside.. do not think i would consider any vehicles older than 08' because dislike many items about them.

We got the extended warranty on our 2008 Bentley Continental GT and so far haven't had any problems with coverage. We got the 3 years in one whack instead of going for 1 year and then extending it, mainly because of the hassle to re-certify it each year, but if you're keeping it less than a year...

It might look cool to change the front grille to black, but that might seriously lessen the value of the car when it comes to reselling. I'm not sure about the black removable coating though - that could be an option, but I'm not sure who does that.

Another good idea is protective film on the car to keep the paint in good condition. For a Bentley it's definitely a good idea since they go through such detail to make the paint right. I checked out Premiere and Elite. Elite had a lower price, but I wanted to make sure it was done right, so I chose Premiere (premiermobilegroup.com). They did a great job with the protective film on our Bentley (hood, front bumper, mirrors, trunk sill, rear wheel underside area). It takes a full day to do. Very professional, I would have no problem going back to them. One of the other cars I saw there was an Aventador, and it looked like some very tricky work around the front bumper - no wrinkles or bumpiness to the film. They know what they're doing.

3900 is what I was quoted for a year. There was a little wiggle room in there in terms of price.

As for the grill most people swap out for the chrome from black. More then likely you can find the lower grills pretty cheap. Heck the dealer should have a few in the back from swap upgrades if they sell a lot of Bentleys.

What color and options are you looking at.
