Post Bentley Continental GT gets a new nose, more swoop for 2011

Autoblog Reports: Our intrepid spy shooters caught the 2011 Bentley Continental GT unwrapped for an all-too-brief moment, and managed to snap off a handful of shots before a VAG security team snatched their camera away and deleted all the images... save one.

However, this singular shot proves
Bentley is taking considerable pains to update the aging GT with some new sheetmetal, a noticeably revised fascia and a sloping roofline that terminates into a more sculpted hatch.

From what we can see, the front end garners the majority of the changes, with a new set of LED headlamps inspired by the all-new
Mulsanne. The hood looks slightly longer and the fascia combines an upright grille with a pair of sweptback fenders and more sculpted intakes.

The prominent swage line that runs the length of the GT appears slightly toned-down, particularly above the front wheel arches, and the mirrors look more aerodynamic than those fitted to its predecessor.

The overall appearance comes off as more planted and suitably swoopy, and unless our eyes (or the angle) are deceiving us, it looks like the 2011 GT's wheelbase is a shade longer than the current model. We should know all the facts when the 2011 Continental GT debuts later this year, likely at the
Paris Motor Show this fall.

stunning!! it looks like something I might actually want to drive rather than just almost puke in my mouth.

It will be a new generation of Continental range. Evolutionary style changes, major tech changes and all-new interior.

I see, because a month ago a friend of mine picked up a new GT speed and the salesman told him it will change in 4 years time.

According to the latest information second generation of Conti GT will be launched this year, options are Paris and Pebble Beach. New Flying Spur will be launched next year. Finally the all new GTC is coming in 2012 given the fact that deliveries of Supersport Convertible will start only this fall and it must be on the run for at least one year, also Conti Supersports will be in production also, together with the convertible version.

I am not sure about Speed versions, opinions divided here, it could happen so that such versions will come almost right after the new models to make a range to choose from or they will be added only after few years time to make the boost of interest and sales.

Thank you very much, I like the current car. Went out in the GT Speed yesterday, it really impressed me.
