My dog would love this!!!! me?... mehh..

I really wanted bentley to make a continental station wagon, but not sure about the 2 door shooting break. Not really practical and not really sporty. compromises rarely work.

remember the aston vantage shooting brake?

Spectacular power output of 612 HP, a maximum torque of 820 Nm and a top-speed of 320 km/h. With the green light from Aston Martin, a Swiss builds the fastest Station Wagon of the world. We drove it…

From the outside the impressive eight cylinders easily make themselves heard. In sharp contrast to the leather lined interior where the atmosphere is practically absolutely quiet and distinguished. Almost like the first class compartment of a 747. And that is exactiy what the acceleration in the fastest estate car in the world feels like.

The basis is the 557 hp Vantage V8 which is already a mighty machine in its own right. Specific tuning has turned this unit into an even mightier 612 hp and 820 Nm engine just in time to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the legendary Aston Martin DBR victory at the Le Mans 24 hour race. This engine produces an inferno of high performance while it presses the passengers deep in the soft leather seats with a seemingly never ending vehemence. The dash from Standing start to 160 km/h takes less than ten seconds while a kilometre is covered in only 21 seconds. The Ferrari 550 and the 747 simply cannot compete here.

Nevertheless, this well mannered British Gentleman reacts in an entirely cultivated fashion when the gas pedal is treated with feeling. The direct servo supported steering allows an easy handling and the enormous racing style braking System has no trouble dealing with this two tons of tuned hardware. The Suspension has been well designed and gives a balanced and comfortable ride.

This unique V8 Vantage shooting brake has a number of real practical advantages - thanks to a man from Switzerland - and that also with the blessing of the Aston Martin factory. They built an estate Version of the DB5 for their boss David Brown back in 1963 and they also presented a Virage Shooting Brake at Geneva in 1992. The crowning glory has now been realised at the Roos Engineering factory in Frauenkappelen - the ultimate Station Wagon for around the same price as a large house in the country.

Beat Roos and his team of twelve specialist engineers have been working for 25 years with Aston Martin and Lagonda. Two years ago he walked off with first prize (in front of the official works entry) at the Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach, USA with a DB4GT restored in his factory at Frauenkappelen.

The V8 Vantage Shooting Brake is his most prestigious project to date. He invested around 1850 hours of traditional quality - all by hand. Roos mentions that in the eariy days there were a number of good Swiss body builders. They want to continue and revive this tradition. Roos has a love of fine detail work. A German customer demanded a rear dog-net along with electric side Windows and so on. A particular problem here was the double treated rear window.

There has been much work also on stiffening the bodywork. No easy task considering the more than 600 hp at the rear axie. Not only is the works factory happy with his work. They are definitely going to continue to use his Services for special projects in the future. He is also much appreciated by his customers. Roos sees a market potential for ten vehides. With his relatively restricted capacity he is capable of building three of these. In this way exclusivity is guaranteed.
