Wow I am still shocked even hours after the initial report. The funny thing is that I had everything prepared to go to the reno air races this year, and cancelled due to some complications.....
My heart goes out to all the affected in this tragedy.... a very sad day.

Early speculation is that the plane lost a control surface, which is why the pilot left the course. Shortly after, there may have been some catastrophic loss of control that caused the plane to pitch down into the crowd.
