Wow, that's pretty cool. Is it really any different from jumping out of a plane? I have no info on the helicopter though.

Yeah, from a plane you don't get that weightless feeling. You jump out and just change direction from horizontal to vertical. You don't really feel anything (or you quickly get used to it.)

From a helicopter / baloon / BASE, you start out stationary and accelerate faster and faster until you deploy or reach terminal velocity. That acceleration feels crazy! Kinda like a rollercoaster, but not as strong (no negative G before the positive G.)

Imagine standing at the end of your bed, falling backwards onto it, but instead of your bed there's nothing there. That's exactly what it felt like.

Ok that is what I would have guessed, just wondered if it was that much more awesome and it sounds like it is! I guess if you are jumping for the thrill of free-fall then a helicopter is the way to go. Very cool. I need to try it!

Most helicopter jumps are from much lower than plane jumps. Our plans usually take us to 13,500 ft and the heli took us to 4,500 ft. So it's not something I'll do a lot, but it is really fun!
