Most Autobahn/freeways in Europe have been designed in parts that the middle separator guard rail can be taken down to turn it into an airstrip. On the other hand Swiss highways have been either pre-rigged with explosives or have built in tank barricades to be raised in stratigic places such as narrow valley entries where you cannot get around the obstacle but have to blow it up.

 

What??!!! No sh*t? We could stand to have a few bridges blown up here!

 

That is pretty cool. I love the shots of the 2 A-10's landing, and of the F-16 taking off at the end.

 

I've always known that the Autobahn was made for emergency landings but damn watching this video gives me goosebumps!!!!!

I want to land there someday!
