I just got back to the house after what I'm calling "the perfect day." Yesterday I saw the forecast for today was great weather, the temp would actually touch 60 degrees for the first time since I don't know when, and that was that. A command decision was made: Cook out at the airport!!

We had a GREAT afternoon. The trainer was flying all day. At one point we had 30 people all just hanging out, eating burgers and hot dogs, just watching planes come and go. Hangar talk and flying stories were going left and right. Mrs. Gobbles came out to hang out, her sister joined us, and the Gobbles Princess was busy answering phones, shooting photos, and dispatching flights. Later the four of us would go up in the Arrow for her sister's first plane ride.

Such an awesome time. It was exactly what I've always thought general aviation should be about: great weather, good times, and even better people.

Yeah, it was awesome. Too bad Gobbles Jr. opted to stay home. He would have had a blast too.
