He wrote a book about that experiece called Sled Driver.

I remember this from a few years ago, still gives me the chills.

Such an awesome badass plane.... still trying to wrap my head around this statement.

The plane was flying a mile every 1.6
seconds, well above our Mach 3.2 limit.

best plane ever made. read the book and they talked about storm clouds at 70,000 ft i believe. crazy..

Great storys in that book- the one about them stalling and falling out of the clouds in front of some cadets and hitting full after burners to keep from crashing was amazing...
