Well... shit!

If there’s ever an image that would you make you sit back and remember quite how much regard we must hold for the supercars we love to admire and for some to drive, it’s this.

The Lamborghini Aventador is fitted with an incredibly strong carbon monoque, yet the brutal force of this incident has ripped right through it and separated the cockpit and engine. It’s designed to do this to protect the occupants only in the most severe impacts.

The incident involves an Aventador on a New York number plate and the incident is reported to have happened in Brooklyn, New York but at the moment we have no news on the condition of the driver and passenger but our thoughts and prayers are with them for their health.

All initial reports suggest the incident is speed related but that the occupants have escaped without too much harm, we’ll update again with further information.

Instagram user _blondiieee__ has reported that the incident involved her brother. In this image she shows her brother’s car claiming that he’s been hospitalized but “he’s ok” and that “he was hit by a Lamborghini doing 100mph”

Is it me or does it seem that the lambo isn't at fault here as he was in his own lane (regardless of speed)?

 

Justification, not sure if it would work but the driver in the right lane can say they saw the car in the distance went to check the lane they were turning into...thinking they had time because the car (lambo) was so far away...and whammy.

Douche was going way to fast in a neighborhood.

 

The Lambo driver was going way too fast so the other driver misscalculated I guess.

 

Both drivers are guilty.

On one side we have the douchebag show off speeder and in the other side we have the moron driver that doesnt the basics of driving.

How are the insurance companies going to deliberate who's at fault and who will be liable for all the damages? On one hand, the Lambo was going at a high rate of speed above the legal limit but on the other hand, the sedan is supposed to always yield and give the right of way to oncoming traffic.

The lambo driver is definitely lucky to have just missed the monocoque...a direct side impact into it would've caused major neck injuries from just the whiplash.

 

Lambo driver was definitely speeding, but the driver of the black car is still an idiot for not even coming to a complete stop before turning. Don't know, maybe I'm wrong?

 

I agree. The Lambo is clearly speeding in a residential area while the guy executing the left hand turn is a complete amateur. What kind of idiot doesn't slow down or even come to a complete stop before making a left turn?

The good thing is, you can prove the Lambo was speeding thanks to the video - just have to use some geometry to calculate how fast he got to the crash spot using the distance traveled.

I am guessing both claims will cancel each other out. Since the Lamborghini driver was speeding, they will deny his claim. The other driver obviously doesn't know how to yield so his insurance company will deny his claim too. Fitting if you ask me - punish them both for making our roads unsafe to drive on.
